Check Your Emirates ID Status Online (2026 Guide)
Visit the ICP smart services portal at icp.gov.ae, enter your PRAN (application) number or passport number, and the system shows the current processing stage. Most Emirates ID cards take 5–10 working days after biometrics are completed. If status shows 'Under Process' for more than 10 working days, contact ICP on 600 522222.
Your Emirates ID application moves through several stages — submitted, under process, printed, dispatched. You can track exactly where it is on the federal ICP (Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security) portal using your application (PRAN) number or passport details.

How to do it — step by step
- 1
Get your PRAN number
Your PRAN (Personal Reference Application Number) is on the receipt issued at the typing centre or by your free zone's PRO. It starts with the year and looks like '2026/XXXXXXX'.
- 2
Open the ICP portal
Go to icp.gov.ae and select 'Smart Services'. Choose 'Emirates ID Services' → 'Application Status'.
- 3
Enter your details
Provide your PRAN number, or your passport number plus nationality. No login is required for a basic status check.
- 4
Read the stage
Common stages: 'Submitted', 'Under Process', 'Printed', 'Dispatched to Emirates Post', 'Ready for Collection'. Each stage indicates the next action needed.
- 5
Collect or wait for delivery
If status shows 'Dispatched', track via Emirates Post using your AWB number. If 'Ready for Collection', visit the nearest typing centre with your original passport.

Common problems & fixes
Status stuck on 'Under Process' for over 10 working days
Call ICP on 600 522 222 with your PRAN. Most delays are biometrics mismatches or pending medical clearance — both resolved within 48 hours after contact.
PRAN not recognised
Double-check the format (year/digits, no spaces). If it still fails, the application may have been submitted under your passport number — try that field instead.
Card returned by Emirates Post
After three failed delivery attempts, the card is held at the nearest Emirates Post branch for 30 days. Collect with your original passport before it's returned to ICP.
Card lost or damaged
Apply for a replacement directly through the ICP app. Standard replacement fee is AED 300; urgent replacement is AED 450 and takes 24 hours.
